About the grower: Smit Kwekerijen from Sappemeer, Groningen, is a modern pot plant nursery of green houseplants. A youngster in ornamental horticulture, they were founded in 1985, but have already built up a reputation for repeatedly introducing fun, unusual types of pot plants. To achieve this, their 'plant hunter' continuously searches the world for new and unknown plants, and interesting variants of existing plants. In the modern greenhouse complex with 160,000 m2 (that's more than sixteen large football fields) the climate is computer-controlled. That is good for the plants, good for energy consumption and therefore good for the environment. Most of them have the above text under 'about the grower'. But the Begonia maculata duo has something different.
